The questions patients ask first.
Most adults with a BMI of 27+ and weight-related health concerns, or a BMI of 30+, may be appropriate candidates. Dr. Ray will confirm suitability during your consultation based on your full history, current medications, and goals. Some conditions exclude GLP-1 use — these are screened during your assessment.
Compounded semaglutide is prepared by a SAHPRA-licensed compounding pharmacy to the prescribing doctor's specifications. It is the same molecule used in branded products and is dispensed under strict pharmaceutical standards. It is prescription-only and dispensed for a named patient.
Most patients see steady loss of 0.5–1 kg per week once on a therapeutic dose. The first month is generally a titration phase to minimise side effects. Sustainable, gradual loss is the goal — not rapid drops.
GLP-1 for weight management is rarely covered by SA medical aids at present. We provide detailed invoices for any out-of-network reimbursement processes you wish to pursue.
